Coming Together to Serve

When Mercy in Action was moving their ministry base back to the states, they offered to share not only their equipment, but also two of their staff members with Threads of Hope and the ministry of Aninuan Christian Church in Puerto Galera.

On my last visit to the village, I was able to join Jenifer, Meddie, and Rachel as they made two home post-pardom visits to check up on two baby girls and their mamas who had been patients at our clinic recently. When women have their babies at Florencia's Hope Birthing Clinic, they receive a gift bag including some clothing and a baby blanket for the newborn. Sandi Utecht, working with Dress a Girl Around the World, sent donated, hand-made baby blankets to our ministry to include in these packets.

Beautiful things happen when the body of Christ works together to fulfill His ministry of caring for the poor!

Jenifer, our midwife, and Rachel, a visiting midwife from Mercy in Action check up on baby Kathleen's health.
Praying for the families is an important part of this ministry.
On the way back to the clinic, we were blessed to come across the first baby ever born at Florencia's Hope Birthing Clinic.
